Worldwide Handwashing Day is a global campaign launched by the United Nations in cooperation with other organizations both governmental and private parties to promote behavior Hand washing with soap by the community in an effort to reduce infant mortality rate and prevention of diseases that can impact on the decline the quality of human life.

Announcement appointment Hand Washing With Soap World Day on October 15, conducted at the Annual Meeting of the World Water (Annual World Water Week), which took place on 17-23 August, 2008 in Stockholm along with the appointment in 2008 as the International Year of Sanitation by the UN General Meeting.
